With the theme of "Peace-Friendship-Future",Shanghai International Children's Cultural & Art Festival (SICCAF) is an international exchange program geared to the children worldwide with an aim to promote multicultural exchange, and enhance understanding and friendship. It is one of the earliest large-scale international children's cultural exchange programs in China with an extensive influence. Since its initiation in 1994, 7 sessions have been successfully held, attracting the participation of over 10,000 overseas children from more than 40 countries and regions as well as hundreds of thousands of children from the locality of China.
2014 Shanghai International Children's Cultural & Art Festival marked the 20th birthday of SICCAF which was held in Shanghai from July 26 to August 1. Adhering to "Peace-Friendship-Future" advocated by all previous sessions, the 2014 SICCAF had "One Planet, One Dream" as its own theme. Children from across the world were invited to assemble in the happy community families of beautiful Shanghai, China. 22 children's art troupes from 12 countries and regions, including China, "celebrated the birthday" of SICCAF.
