On July 30, the children's forum "A Beautiful Homeland in My Dream" was held in Shanghai International Convention Center.

Nearly 100 teens and children from 9 countries, from the two perspectives of "family" and "city", held a discussion and concluded the 2014 Shanghai Declaration, in which they proposed an initiative to their peers all over the world: to change your lifestyle for the sake of the earth; to build your wonderful dreams for the future; and to devote your love and talent for the good of others.

The children's forum of the Art Festival was set up for the first time in 2004 to provide children with an opportunity of conducting democratic dialogues with adults for their participation in the public social life and policy making. Currently the children's forum has become a retained traditional event of the Art Festival.

In theforum this year, some children's representatives at home and from abroad offered their imaginations and innovations for the "energy-saving housein my dream" by imagining themselves as little architects; and some presented their blueprints and planning schemes for the "smart cityin my dream" as little planners. By interpreting what a beautiful homeland is like from different perspectives, exploring how to build a beautiful homeland by means of a scientific outlook, and appealing that a beautiful homeland is necessary with their pure emotions, they contributed their ideas and suggestions to the promotion of a harmonious, wonderful homeland.
