For this Children’s Day, the “I Grow Up with My Motherland” Theme Show for International Children’s Day in 2019 jointly sponsored by China Welfare Institute, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and National Centre for the Performing Arts of China will be carried out in Opera House of the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

This event was designated to deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirits of his important speech on the National Education Conference, facilitate the cultivation of new generations of people to take the great responsibility for national rejuvenation, and present a thoughtful, enjoyable, warm and meaningful festival gift to children.
The Art Troupe of Little Friends of CWI Children’s Palace undertakes the creation and performing of Guard the Earth Together, a large-scale singing and dancing performance, during this show. It is a brand-new creation which is specially tailored with this good vision and theme of “Guard the Earth Together” for globalization and national unity to show children’s healthy and positive vitality in the new era and everything’s vigorous growing in a good ecological environment, and reflect those future masters’ thought, vision and outlook for “peace”, “friendship” and “building a community of shared future for mankind” from the standpoint of children.
Before going to Beijing, the “little friends” carried out a special quick flash activity at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. They successively sang three classic children’s and patriotic songs, showing their love for the motherland and their expectation for the Children’s Day.

The melody of children’s singing along with violin, bamboo flute and drum has long lingered in the airport terminal, attracting a lot of travelers. Among them, some were singing together with the children affectionately and passionately; some were taking pictures with mobile phones; some were receiving red scarves and national flags from children. They relived childhood memories and heartedly expressed their best wishes and hopes for a bright future of the motherland.
“Let's scull the sculls and the boat pushes the waves away…” When the familiar melody started, “little friends” were coming from all sides, walking and singing, and getting together in the center of the terminal, as if the beautiful singing was flying on the sparkling lake.
As the drums started, the atmosphere on the site was heated up. The audience took over red scarves from children and wore them in the same way as they did in childhood, and passionately sang We Are the Successors of Communism together.

As the flute rhyme for the prelude of My Motherland and Me started, Huang Ying, a singer and a member of the Art Troupe of Little Friends, and Song Huaiqiang, a performing artist and a member of the Art Troupe of Little Friends, went to the middle of the children. They were singing the song with great passion, making the audience feel an upsurge of emotion, lift and wave national flags quickly and sing the song together. They’re heartedly expressing their joy and pride for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
