| 2015 Shanghai International Children’s Theatre Festival Kicked Off |

On the evening of July 17, 2015 Shanghai International Children’s Theatre Festival raised the curtain in Shanghai Mass Art Center (SMAC). The guests attending the opening ceremony were greeted with the enthusiastic singing and dancing, innocent smile of the little members and performers from Malan Flower Children’s Art Troupe of Shanghai Children’s Art School. "Elephant Beibei", the cartoon star, led a cute aerobic dance with its babies, advocating a healthy lifestyle with more sports and appreciation of theatre dramas for children. The Gum Sul from Korea performed the highlights from the puppet show “ Dinosaur Mom” which is about to come on show in Shanghai.
As the host for the event, the CWI Children's Theatre had put elaborate efforts into the creation and performance of the children's play “Winter of The little eight” an opening program which is rich in old Shanghai style. The whole performance was filled with cheerful laughter of parents and children.
Founded in 2004, the Shanghai International Children’s Theatre Festival, the only internationalchildren’s theatre festival in China, has held for 8 sessions with a total of 60 plays and around 150,000 participants up to now. In this year, altogether eight troupes from Poland, Argentina, Japan, South Korea, China and other countries and regions will bring forward 29 theatrical shows and 8 community shows. Meanwhile, seminars, awarding events, performances and other activities will also be unveiled in the Beijing parallel session. |
