| On the afternoon of March 6, Dr. Jeffrey M. Fowler from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Ohio State University College of Medicine delivered a symposium on “Minimally Invasive Surgery of Gynecologic Oncology” and “Latest Treatment for Ovarian Cancer” upon the invitation of CWI International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital. More than 130 doctors in total from CWI International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, and Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital attended the symposium. The symposium delivered by Dr. Fowler covers such topics as “Progress in Minimally Invasive Surgery of Gynecologic Oncology”, “Advantages & Disadvantages of Peritoneoscope for the Treatment of Gynecological Oncology”, “Application of Robotic Surgery to Gynecological Oncology”, and “Comprehensive Treatment of Early & Advanced Ovarian Cancer”. Being impressively humorous and witty, Dr. Fowler shared his experience and understanding of oncotherapy accumulated for decades in simple but profound words. All the people present at the symposium were engaged in active interaction and ardent exchanges, rewarding Dr. Fowler with unanimous applause. As the incumbent Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Ohio State University College of Medicine, and Director of Ohio State's Center for Advanced Robotic Surgery, Dr. Fowler is mainly devoted to the fields of radical pelvic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, pelvic reconstruction and robotic surgery. Following the visit of Doctor London, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Ohio State University College of Medicine to CWI International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital, a platform has been established for the cooperation and communication between CWI International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the Ohio State University College of Medicine. |
