| On June 6, Madam Ruth A. Knox, President of Wesleyan Female College of the United States, and Mr. Steve Farr, Chief Admission Officer of the college, visited CWI. The American guests visited the History Exhibition Room of CWI and learned about the evolution of CWI and the specific business activities conducted by the institute over the years.  Wang Luning, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CWI, had a meeting with the American guests. The two parties probed into the matters regarding the cooperation between the two institutions, and reached the preliminary intentions in the aspects of popularizing CWI’s publications in Chinese Language in colleges of Americaand inviting the children’s art troupes of America to participate in the Shanghai International Children’s Culture Arts Festival. Both parties agreed that the visit further enhanced the understanding and friendship between the college and CWI and laid a good foundation for cooperation in the future.  Located in Macon City, Georgia State, United States, Wesleyan Female College is close to the western bank of Ocmulgee River. Formerly known as Georgia Female College, it was founded in 1836. The quiet and cozy environment on the campus provides great learning and living conditions for students coming here to study. The Soong sisters, Soong Ai Ling, Soong Ching Ling and Soong Mei Ling, all studied in the college. Therefore, the college also formed a connection with CWI as it has cultivated the Soong sisters. |
