| Madam Soong Ching Ling was a great woman in the 20th century. She made significant contributions to the independence and liberation endeavor of the Chinese nation, to the world peace, and to the development of women and children's welfare cause in new China. Upon the invasion of Japanese imperialism when the Chinese nation had reached the critical point where its very existence was at stake, Madam Soong Ching Ling founded the China Defense League for creating a bond between China and the rest of the world to fight against fascism with joint efforts. After the birth of new China, advocated by premier Zhou Enlai and Madam Soong Ching Ling, China Welfare Institute (CWI) defined its policies of "doing experiments, setting examples, and strengthening scientific research" regarding the welfare of maternity and children healthcare, and cultural education of children. CWI always shares the same fate with the motherland and keeps pace with the times. Carrying the lofty ideals and noble pursuits of Madam Soong Ching Ling, CWI has played an important role in assisting her to assume historical responsibilities and advance the social progress. The history of CWI was that of Madam Soong Ching Ling to wholeheartedly serve the country and its people. The growth and development of the institute was closely associated with the fate and destiny of the Chinese nation as a whole. Taking history as guidance helps to look forward to the future, to understand the past better, to see the things and to learn the spirits. The purpose of launching the Online History Museum of CWI is to foster our people and realize their aspirations through drawing lessons from history, to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Madam Soong Ching Ling by following the great causes initiated by her. In doing so, we can certainly dedicate ourselves to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Enter into: CWI Online History Exhibition |
