Set up by Mme Soong Ching-ling in 1950, the CWI Nursery is located at No. 639, Huashan Road, covering an area of 4,680 square meters. As the first model nursery in Shanghai, it is an early childhood education institution for the city with a long history with beautiful garden, well-established facilities and top-class education quality. It has won a great number of honorary titles, such as the National Advanced Institution for Youngsters and Children Education, Shanghai Model Institution, Shanghai Outstanding Female Workers’ Organization, Shanghai Advanced Patriotic Institution of Sanitation, and Shanghai Class A Creditworthy Institution on Finance and Accounting. On top of the aforesaid, the CWI Nursery has also passed the certification of ISO9001 standard quality management system.

　　Always adhering to Mme Soong Ching-ling’s thoughts for children education and implementing the working guidelines of “running pilot and experimental projects to enhance scientific researches”, the Nursery has established a guiding idea of “all for children”, which gives top priority to the harmonious development of each child both physically and mentally, and built a healthy education pattern which emphasizes nutrition balance,  integrating education with health care on the basis of health care, and attaching equal importance of mental and physical development. It took the lead to fulfill the combination of nursery with kindergarten in Shanghai in 1999. In 2004, the Parent-Child Garden was build to complete the full process of pre-school education in the preliminary stage. Now, the Nursery consists of 16 classes and accommodates over 400 infants and children between 0 and 6 years old, including those from the Parent-Child Garden. Among all infants and children,25% are international students.
